The stunning traditional Austrian twin villages of Saalbach and Hinterglemm form an extensive piste on both sides of the picturesque Glemm Valley. The resorts of Saalbach and Hinterglemm together form the interlinked ski area called the ‘Ski Circus’ which was host to the World Championships in the early 90’s.
Resort
Saalbach has access to 200km of downhill skiing, with 60 individual pistes, served by 52 ski lifts. Such is the efficiency of the area and lift system that you can ski the circuit in either direction without covering the same run twice.
Ski level
For beginners, the nursery slopes are located in both resorts at village level. Intermediate skiers will be satisfied with an abundance of long reds, whilst advanced skiers can experience the breathtaking black runs down from the Schattberg and Zwölferkogel. A ski bus service runs regularly along the entire length of the valley and is included in your lift pass.
Snowboarding
Boarders are spoilt, with 13km of boarders-only pistes, as well as a specialist park and half-pipe.
