Raising money for an inspirational cause with Katie’s Ski Tracks

23 Jul, 2014 by Tim Jenkins

Understanding the importance of a ski trip abroad in the development of an individual is always at the forefront of our minds. Providing schools with the best resorts, Clubhotels, qualified ski technicians and the latest ski equipment is always our priority, however we also recognise those outside of SkiBound who also seek to provide children with an opportunity of a lifetime.

Katie’s Ski Tracks is a UK charity that has been raising money to take ‘disadvantaged children with life-threatening or life-limiting medical conditions, disability, or extreme social problems, on an adventure Skiing Holiday of a Lifetime’ without their parents/carers. Integral to their cause are the donations made by individuals, groups and schools. Avoiding the Tesco cliché of ‘every little helps’, contributions truly make a huge difference to these children realising their dreams and enjoying a unique experience which otherwise seems impossible.

The brilliant work by the Katie’s Ski Tracks team extends beyond organising the trip. They look at how they can help the children develop and realise their potential to become their own person. Through developing the children’s confidence, self-respect and ability to achieve success, the helpers create an ultimate ski experience that brings together learning, bonding opportunities and, most importantly, fun.Photo of Katie's Ski Tracks' Andy Winspeare with SkiBound's Bryn Robinson

Katie’s Ski Tracks’ very own Andy Winspeare joined us to receive a cheque for £3,677.00. Over the 4 years of fundraising for this small UK based charity, SkiBound has raised a total of £20,018.00. SkiBound’s Managing Director, Bryn Robinson, introduced Andy to the SkiBound team who kindly provided an insight into the latest trip run by Katie’s Ski Tracks through donations. Hearing about the fantastic work and great lengths this group of volunteers go to proved hugely inspirational to all as the SkiBound team continue to raise more money for the charity.

SkiBound and Katie’s Ski Tracks would like to thank all of our schools who have kindly donated, SkiBound’s Sarah Crawford and everyone who has been involved in fundraising money around the office for such a great cause.Check out the video from the children's latest ski trip to Italy with Katie's Ski Tracks.Find out more about SkiBound’s involvement in Katie’s Ski Tracks here.
