Why choose this resort?
As Canada's largest ski-in ski-out resort, Big White is a purpose-built village offering fantastic convenience. The resort benefits from vitrually non-existant lift queues, modern facilities, fantastic hospitality and doorstep skiing accommodation. Groups can try out the many activities on offer for evening entertainment such as tubing, ice-skating, dog-sledding, snow-shoeing, horse-drawn sleigh rides or night and Nordic skiing. Big White also hosts weekly events on your doorstep culminating in a magical winter wonderland for groups to explore.
On the slopes
With abundant average snowfall of over seven metres, this is a good option right up until April. Big White is British Columbia's second biggest ski area yet remains a relatively hidden gem, with stunning skiing over mostly tree-lined terrain linked together by a huge, fast lift system. The resort benefits from excellent snow conditions and skiers enjoy cruising over the light, dry Okangan Champagne powder which creates 'snow ghosts' - trees encased in frozen snow. With 2,765 acres of marked terrain to explore, no-one in your school group will be dissapointed. For the beginners, there is a dedicated beginner area as well as several gentle green slopes through the village and off virtually every lift, all the way to the peak. As young skiers progress, see them take on the Around the World Run that stretches from the very top to the very bottom of the resort - bound to leave a lasting impression of huge accomplishment.
