Why choose this resort?
Set in the picturesque Franconia Notch State Park, Cannon Mountain offers the highest ski area summit in New Hampshire. Thanks to an elevation of over 4000ft, as well as some well-placed lifts, the resort presents access to over 90 trails. The tree-lined trails of scenic views across the range include Vista Way’s picture-postcard look over to Mount Lafayette. There lie 287 acres of skiable piste offering a range of terrain from glades and off-summit runs.
Boston is just a 2-hour and 30-minute drive away, providing school ski trips to Cannon Mountain with a great opportunity to absorb some history as students learn about its place in the American Revolution.
On the slopes
With Bode Miller plying his trade on Cannon Mountain as a young World Cup hopeful, the resort proves to be an inspired choice for schools. While 15% of Cannon Mountain’s runs are geared toward those new to the slopes, the resort is a treasure trove for intermediates. Over a quarter of the resort provides advanced skiers with an array of testing slopes accessible via Cannon’s iconic aerial tramways.
With 98 trails linked by 10 lifts, even the most seasoned skier will find plenty to keep them occupied. The freestyle skiers and snowboarders in your group will have plenty to challenge and develop their skills in the resort’s terrain parks. The resort is also capable of 69% snowmaking across its wide-open glades, narrow trails, challenging chutes and gullies of the Front Five ski area, making it a great choice for schools seeking fresh powder days.
