Why choose this resort?
There is almost 5,000 acres of skiable terrain on the California-Nevada border making Heavenly the second largest ski resort in North America. Boasting an excellent snow record and even better views across Lake Tahoe, Heavenly is the picture-postcard resort. Heavenly has a resort height of over 3,000 metres averaging 9 metres of snowfall each year. The vast ski area is also supported by a snowmaking system covering over 3360 acres. Accommodation is located out of resort by the lake or right in the centre of the village. There are loads of options for school ski groups with the bright lights of San Francisco just 5 hours away.
On the slopes
Thanks to a consistently good snow record, schools can enjoy almost 100 marked routes across the extensive ski area. Whether there are mild temperatures near the bottom of the slopes or not, there is a wealth of runs to cater for all abilities. Around 19 runs are dedicated to the beginner to early intermediate skier while those with a little more experience may choose to explore the 43 intermediate trails. If your advanced skiers want some time away from the 29 black slopes, there are terrain parks available. There is also a progression park for beginners located close to the gondola terminus which offers a great introduction to low-rise boxes and rails.
