What comes to mind when you think of Canada?

For us, it’s the landscapes with alpine forests and awe-inspiring mountain ranges. It’s the diverse cities to explore and that delicious maple syrup you pour on your pancakes! But have you ever considered Canada for your school’s next ski trip? With its excellent ski resorts, extensive snowmaking facilities, high-quality accommodation and friendly Canadian hospitality, Canada is fast becoming a popular skiing destination for UK school groups.

Take our most popular resort to date, Jasper - Marmot Basin:

It has the highest base elevation of all Canadian resorts and just a short bus ride to Marmot Basin, where you'll hit the slopes! Jasper holds a long ski season so is perfect for Easter groups. Marmot Basin has a well-designed layout, meaning various runs are available from all chair lifts, so fun for all abilities. The resort is situated in the stunning Jasper National Park, with so much to offer for a school trip to the Canadian Rockies. Here's some of our favourite activities to consider adding to your itinerary:

  • See Calgary (only 5 hours away) to provide your students with a change of scenery from the slopes with a chance to explore a cosmopolitan and vibrant city.

Tremblant

Tremblant is a firm favourite with SkiBound’s schools, offering the best of North American hospitality combined with French elegance. Located in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec, discover 95 trails and extensive in-resort après ski activities. The Tremblant Activity Centre offers lots of possibilities such as mission laser and don't forget the ice skating rink at the resort's Chapelle Saint-Bernard.

Set within a pedestrian village, you'll gave the comfort of knowing your students can explore safely. With Columbus Café & Co just a few minutes away, as well as other restaurants and ski shops, students can experience some independence away from home. Fancy that big city experience during your trip? Visit Montreal, the second largest city in Canada and only a 2-hour coach journey from Tremblant.

Panorama is a resort to keep in mind too:

One of the Rockies’ premier skiing destinations, Panorama boasts 2,800 acres of varied terrain and a vertical drop of 4,000ft. This gorgeous mountain village has everything your school group needs on your doorstep. When you are looking for some downtime its famous hot pools (just a few minutes walk away from the Approach Hotel) overlooking the base of the mountain are a must!

Banff

The famous ski town of Banff is a great alternative resort for schools with a more limited budget. Due to its' location and high snowfall, Banff makes the perfect late season option for school groups. At this stunning resort you will have access to the ‘Big 3’ ski areas of Mount Norquay, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise, all set within the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. That’s 7,748 acres of terrain to suit all levels!

Mont Sainte Anne provides great quality groomed runs

There is a huge variety of pistes catered for all abilities, with plenty of beginner slopes but a full range of black diamond and double black diamond too. The resort is also a short distance from Quebec City, providing more alternative activities such as visiting the Hôtel de Glace or taking in the Old Quebec area, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Our extensive variety of Canadian ski resorts mean we will always find something to suit your school’s needs. Each is well-equipped to accommodate large groups, and all have exciting après-ski options with access to local amenities.
