A Day on the Slopes: Celebrating Young Talent at the SATIPSKI and SkiBound Indoor Championships

This past Monday, the Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead, was alive with energy and excitement as we proudly sponsored two major schools snowsports events: The SATIPSKI National Indoor Championships 2025 and The SkiBound Indoor Open Schools Championship organised by the National Schools Snowsports Association. It was a truly memorable day celebrating the spirit of school snowsports in the UK.

A Celebration of School Snowsports

From the moment the SkiBound team arrived at The Snow Centre, the buzz was unmistakable. Over the course of the day, hundreds of young racers took to the slopes, representing schools from across the country in both skiing and snowboarding disciplines. The atmosphere was a mix of healthy competition, self-improvement, and respect for all who took to the slopes.

The events, expertly organised by the National Schools Snowsports Association (NSSA), were run with precision and enthusiasm. Their hard work behind the scenes ensured the day ran seamlessly, allowing the focus to remain where it belongs: on the young skiers and snowboarders.

Great Conversations and Lasting Connections

Our stand in The Lodge offered the perfect setting to connect with teachers, ski coaches, and parents alike. The team had so many inspiring conversations about the benefits of school ski trips - from boosting students’ confidence and resilience, to building friendships and creating lifelong memories.

It was also a pleasure to be joined by our Experience Education sister brands, who added their support to the day’s activities. Together, we showcased the breadth of what we offer to UK schools, from fully tailored ski packages across Europe and North America to year-round trip planning through curriculum, sports, and residential tours.

Recognising Talent: SkiBound Presents the Prizes

A highlight of the day was seeing our very own Head of Sales, Nick Dawson, take to the podium to present medals and trophies throughout the day of championships. There was a tangible sense of pride and accomplishment on the faces of the young competitors as they were recognised for their performance and effort – some of whom were experiencing competitive skiing and snowboarding for the very first time.

Supporting the Future of Snowsports

Events like these are a vital part of encouraging and developing future talent. It was fantastic to meet the passionate individuals of the NSSA working hard to make these opportunities possible - from race coordinators and slope staff to the incredible coaches supporting every racer’s journey.

At SkiBound, we believe our trips are about more than just skiing. They're about growth, exploration, and helping young people discover a love for adventure. Seeing that belief brought to life at the Snow Centre only reaffirms our commitment to schools and students across the UK.
