Set at 1860 metres above sea level, Alpe d’Huez boasts a wide range of different slopes suited to all abilities.

When the resort isn’t in its winter season, Alpe d’Huez uses its 21 bends up the mountain for various cycling expeditions, including the Tour de France.

One main ski area is the Grandes Rousses, which is perfect for beginners as there are lots of gentle blues and easy greens, such as Jeux and Marcel’s Farm, which all lead down to the same ‘bowl area’.

There are also some very challenging slopes like the Tunnel which will keep the professional skiers busy! Alpe d’Huez is also home to Europe’s longest black run, La Sarenne.

  • With the highest guest capacity of all the SkiBound Clubhotels, Clubhotel Vallee Blanche can accommodate up to 160 guests, so is perfect for either big groups or several smaller trips at any one time.
  • There is a spacious bar area, with several sofas, a pool table and a bar with an extensive menu of drinks, snacks and merchandise.

  • The hotel has its own restaurant area with huge windows showcasing the beautiful mountain scenery.
  • As a Clubhotel, one benefit is that it has on-site ski fit facilities, meaning easy accessibility and efficient set up for any ski equipment questions.

Town

  • The town of Alpe d’Huez has lots to offer, with several ski apparel shops, souvenir outlets and lots of inviting cafes.
  • The resort is well laid out and Clubhotel Vallee Blanche is a stones' throw from the main area which holds the ice rink. There is also a local SPAR just near by as well as a pharmacy.
