Why choose this resort?
Situated in Southern Vermont, Mount Snow has a proud history as one of the original locations for the Extreme Games and Winter X-Games. Aside from its notoriety amongst snowboarders, 80 runs stretch out across 588 acres of skiable terrain. Located just 4 hours away from New York City, Mount Snow is a great option for school groups seeking a stopover in the Big Apple. In resort, accommodation is within walking distance of après-ski activities which offer an abundance of options when the sun goes down.
On the slopes
With 10 snowparks, 2 pipes and dedicated snowboard instructors it is easy to see why Mount Snow is seen as snowboarding heaven. However, the resort’s 80 runs provide plenty for the skiers to enjoy. Mount Snow is particularly well suited to intermediate skiers seeking the thrill of blue runs. Long cruiser runs accessed by the resort’s 20-lift system give beginners something to aim for during their stay while advanced skiers will no doubt aim for the Bluebird Express and the steeper black diamonds and technical terrain. Away from the North Face, Sunbrook located on the south side of the mountain offers advanced skiers open trails and an authentic North American ski experience. As pistes are spread out over 4 separate sections you’ll find it easy to pick and choose what’s suitable for your level. Whether your school ski group aim for the 3-mile ‘Long John’ green run with its own lift-system or seek the tree-lined trails of the black diamond slopes, it’s clear to see why Mount Snow is a firm favourite with schools.
