With an average trail length of almost a mile and peaks soaring to over 4000ft, Stowe is regarded as the complete New England winter destination. Stowe benefits from an average of just over 8 metres of annual snowfall across the resort’s 485 acres. With 83% snowmaking capability its 116 varied trails, Party Leaders can be sure of groomed runs throughout the season. This fantastic resort is packed full of traditions and easily accessed via New York and Boston. Off the slopes, there is a wide selection of retail shops and cafes students can visit in their downtime. Accommodation is full of back country charm and whether you opt to stay in the village or just outside, you’ll find plenty of après-ski activities both in-house and in-resort.
On the slopes
There are well over 100 trails to choose suited for everyone from beginners to pros. Spruce Peak gives those new to the slopes the space to master the basics providing gentle greens and slightly bolder blues. Progression naturally leads to the steeper slopes of Mount Mansfield and with 55% of the resort dedicated to intermediates it’s easy to see how Stowe has forged an impressive reputation with both the locals and UK school ski groups. Transferring from Mount Mansfield to Spruce Peak is made easy with an effective gondola system in place. Advanced skiers have a combined 30% of black diamond runs to explore throughout the week even before a visit to the Stowe Parks. Snowboarders are well looked after at Stowe with six terrain parks containing enough jumps, jibs, ramps, fun boxes and half pipes to keep even the keenest of freestyler happy.
