The insurance policy matches the requirements set by most LEAs with our standard policy, including the following cover:
It is crucial you read the insurance policy prior to completing your booking so you are fully aware of the levels of cover provided. This is also in special regard to any pre-existing medical conditions of anyone within your school ski group. We recommend you email details of insurance to all involved with the ski trip at the time of booking to ensure they (and if under 18, their parents or guardians) are aware of the full terms of cover.

Please note that as soon as your full first deposits have been paid and received for every member of the group, your policy will be live. If the cover does not meet your needs, there is a ‘cooling-off’ period of 14 days from the date of receipt for first deposits during which you may cancel the insurance in writing to SkiBound. Please refer to the policy and the statement of insurance for details regarding cancellation. The policy also contains a Complaints Procedure.
For SkiBound school ski tours, we highly recommend that all within your group obtain a Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC). Many state hospitals and doctors in the EEA will accept this if a member of your group seeks medical assistance. It is important to note that this is not a replacement for travel insurance. The GHIC may not cover the cost of all treatment or repatriation as per that received in the UK.
As part of Travelopia, we are able to offer a high level of financial protection and can provide the assurances that come with being a member of the Federation of Tour Operators (FTO). Party Leaders can also take comfort in the fact that all of our tours are fully bonded by ABTA and ATOL, protecting your group against unforeseen events.
Should you decide to make your own travel insurance arrangements, please note that adequate and valid travel insurance is a prerequisite for all those travelling with SkiBound. It is a condition of completing your booking with SkiBound that you agree to obtain adequate travel insurance (including winter sports cover) by the date of departure. You must ensure there are no exclusion clauses that limit cover for the winter sports activities that form the basis of your school ski trip with us.
