Yes. Safety is carefully built into our ski trips. All accommodation, transport, equipment, and slopes used for lessons meet strict safety standards, and group leaders have 24/7 support throughout the trip.

We guide you through medical information, rooming lists, and insurance. You’ll receive clear templates and guidance for parents. Should you require information on passport and visa requirements, please refer to the gov.uk foreign travel advice or check with the relevant consulate.

Schools collect this information in advance. We work closely with group leaders and partners to ensure all dietary and medical requirements are communicated and prepared for before departure.

Teachers follow the school’s medical procedures. We assist group leaders in accessing appropriate local medical care and help with communication home where needed.

Your school will provide a full packing list. Key items typically include warm layers, waterproof outerwear, gloves, sunscreen, and any prescribed medication.

Most costs are included. Your school will confirm a recommended amount for snacks, drinks on the mountain, or small souvenirs.

Yes, we can organise this for your group. Please speak with your regional account manager or ski trip consultant post-confirmation, who will talk you through the process. Please note we cannot assist with individual Visa applications.

Yes. Adequate travel insurance is compulsory for all SkiBound travellers. If insurance is not included in your package, we will require your policy details before departure. Your ski trip consultant can also advise on adding insurance to your booking if needed.

Travellers only need to apply for a UK GHIC once their EHIC expires. Both provide the same level of cover and UK GHIC  is free and lasts for up to 5 years.

Passport requirements depend on your destination. British passport holders should check the relevant FCDO guidance. Other passport holders will need to confirm requirements with the appropriate embassy.

Entry requirements vary depending on nationality. Travellers should check the rules for their destination and also confirm re‑entry requirements for the UK on the UK Government website.

ESTAs should be applied for in advance of travel. Please note that not all nationalities are eligible for an ESTA and may require a visa to enter or transit through the USA.

Yes. The ESTA fee has increased to $40. All travellers must complete the online ESTA application before travel.

From 12 October 2025, EES introduced biometric checks (facial image and fingerprints) at EU borders, replacing passport stamping for non-EU travellers.

The EES officially became fully operational and active across all 29 participating European countries on 10th April 2026. Please check EES and the FCDO advice for your destination, and speak to your ski trip coordinator if you have any questions.

Yes. Longer queues are possible, and educational groups are not exempt.

Yes. Japan’s Hakuba Valley resorts offer excellent terrain for all abilities, English-speaking instruction, well-organised facilities, and a level of cultural and educational value that is genuinely hard to match elsewhere. SkiBound’s four resorts in the Hakuba and Nagano area cater for beginners through to advanced skiers, with five hours of ski instruction per day from nationally qualified, English-speaking instructors

The snow, primarily. Japanese powder is cold, dry, and exceptionally light, produced by weather patterns that deliver overnight falls of 20cm or more throughout the season. Even late-afternoon skiing routinely turns up untracked powder. Add the birch forests and the surrounding culture, and Japan offers an experience that is categorically different from any Alpine destination.

Japan is more cost-accessible than most teachers assume when they first consider it, particularly given the volume of educational value included across skiing, cultural excursions, and the Tokyo stopover.
