Our accommodation

All accommodation featured in our brochure — including hotels, apartments, chalets, hostels, youth centres and pensions — is selected because it represents fair value within its category. We recommend comparing each resort and accommodation option carefully against the overall cost of your tour before making your final choice.

Optional facilities

Some hotels may apply a charge for the use of optional facilities such as swimming pools, saunas or solariums. Towels and soap are not guaranteed to be provided, so Party Leaders should remind their group to bring their own.

Rooming

Most student rooms sleep 3–4 pupils, although hotels may use larger rooms when required.
Where apartment accommodation is offered, groups must fill the total number of beds within each apartment. If there is an overflow, we will arrange the most practical solution, which may involve sharing an apartment with another group or applying under-occupancy supplements at our discretion.

Additional rooming details:

  • Bunk beds may be used in some properties.
  • French and North American hotels often include double beds traditionally used for school groups.
  • Many Austrian properties feature Austrian twin beds.
  • Accompanying adults are allocated twin or triple rooms where available.
  • Single rooms are rarely available; if they can be offered, a supplement will apply for single occupancy, even where the room contains more than one bed.
  • Twin rooms for adults above the free-place ratio are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
  • If staff cannot be accommodated in twin or triple rooms based on group requirements and hotel layout, we may allocate a shared room with a Party Leader of the same sex from another group.

Arrival

Under international hotel regulations, rooms are typically available after midday on arrival and must be vacated by 10:00 on your final day.

Meals

Most hotels provide three meals a day, usually consisting of a continental breakfast, lunch and dinner, unless otherwise stated in your itinerary or brochure. In some hotels, a packed lunch may replace the usual hot lunch.

Some centres — often run by non-profit organisations — operate on a social tourism basis. Here, guests may be asked to assist with basic tasks such as keeping rooms tidy, self-service in the dining area, and returning trays after meals. The help required is minimal but worth being aware of before you travel.

Allocating hotels

In resorts where we feature more than one accommodation option, your specific hotel or chalet will be confirmed once we receive your final numbers. If you have a preferred property, please highlight this on your booking form and we will do our utmost to meet your request.

Occasionally, we may use additional accommodation not listed in the brochure. Any alternative used will always be of an equivalent standard and will have been inspected and approved by senior SkiBound staff.

What’s in our brochure

We take great care to ensure our brochures offer an accurate overview of the facilities available. If we become aware of any significant changes that may affect your enjoyment, we will update Party Leaders or travel agents directly.

However, some circumstances are beyond our control, including:

  • local holidays and religious festivals
  • planned maintenance (e.g., temporary closure of ski lifts)
  • adverse weather conditions
  • seasonal variations affecting facilities
  • temporary closure of amenities such as hotel lifts, swimming pools or outdoor areas

Facilities are shown in good faith, but availability may vary, particularly at the start or end of the season. The selling price of your holiday reflects these seasonal factors.

Entertainment in hotels, particularly live entertainment, is dependent on demand and may vary if guest numbers are low. Technical equipment such as video players or microphones on coaches can occasionally malfunction, and we cannot accept responsibility or compensation claims should this occur.
