Safety and support you can rely on

Safety is central to everything we do. With over four decades of experience running school ski trips, SkiBound has built robust systems that protect students, teachers and staff at every stage of the journey. Our approach combines detailed risk management with responsible operational standards, all backed by independent accreditation.

We are proud members of the School Travel Forum (STF) and hold the Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge. These accreditations recognise our commitment to clear processes, consistent auditing and high standards across all elements of our operation – from transport and accommodation to ski schools and après-ski activities.

  • STF and LOtC accredited
  • Comprehensive Safety Management System
  • 24-hour emergency procedures
  • Experienced staff supporting every group

Safety Management System (SMS)

Our Safety Management System is built around the Plan-Do-Check-Act model and reviewed annually by independent safety experts appointed by the School Travel Forum. These assessments reinforce our internal audits and ensure that our systems evolve with current best practice.

We provide clear safety information before travel to help Party Leaders prepare. Inspection Visits are available for those who wish to complete risk assessments in resort ahead of their school’s trip.

Training

Our staff receive role-specific safety training, aligned with OEAP National Guidance and DfE recommendations. We also encourage schools to undertake Snowsport Visits specific training through EVOLVE Advice.

Emergency procedures

Our Incident Management Plan sets out how we respond to accidents, incidents and emergencies. This includes 24-hour support, full incident reporting and immediate access to trained staff.

Safeguarding policy

Our Safeguarding Policy prioritises the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, outlining reporting procedures and staff responsibilities. We are committed to:

  • Protecting the welfare of each child
  • Providing a safe environment for children to participate in all activities
  • Annually reviewing our policy and practice
  • Training all employees in good Working with Children practice as outlined in our online Safeguarding Module and Brand specific Training.

Financial security

SkiBound has public liability insurance up to £10,000,000 and is a member of the Federation of Tour Operators (FTO). Party Leaders can rest assured that all of our tours are fully bonded by ABTA and ATOL, protecting your group against unforeseen events.

All the flight-inclusive trips on this website are financially protected by the ALOT scheme. When you pay, you will be supplied with an ATOL certificate. Please ask for it and check to ensure that everything you booked (flights, hotels and other services) is listed on it. Please see our booking conditions for more information about financial protection, and for the ATOL Certificate, go to: www.caa.co.uk.

Accommodation & transport safety

All accommodation and transport providers undergo strict auditing to ensure compliance with our safety standards.

Allergies, medical conditions and dietary requirements

Embarking on a trip is an exciting time, but for those with allergies and medical conditions, it can be daunting and brings additional challenges for you to consider within your own trip risk assessment.

We have put together Guidance Information to assist with the trip planning so that the trip runs as smoothly as possible.
