Why choose Jasper – Marmot Basin
Jasper offers what you would imagine from a trip to the Canadian Rockies with 1,675 acres of skiable terrain offering groomed runs, tree-lined trails and alpine bowls. The uncrowded slopes of Jasper allow students to cascade freely with space for beginners to try out their newly acquired skills and the more experienced skiers and snowboarders to perfect their turns. Set in the heart of Jasper National Park, the main ski area of Marmot Basin offers up a wide choice of trails as well as a chance to see some local wildlife. There is even a chance to learn more about the area at one of Parks Canada’s classrooms manned by qualified conservation experts.

On the slopes
With just a 20-minute shuttle journey transferring you from Jasper to the slopes of the Marmot Basin, students will be immediately welcomed to 100kms of skiable terrain. On a school ski trip to Jasper, groups love the variety of slopes on offer and, with the ski schools’ fantastic reputation, there are plenty of instructors willing to guide you on the best trails and coffee shops. Beginners will have plenty of variety with over 25kms of gentle meandering runs whilst intermediates will enjoy a wealth of bigger inclines further up the pine-flanked slopes. As with most Canadian resorts, snowboarders are well-catered for and, as with the ski runs, they’ll find gradients split evenly between easy, intermediate and advanced.
