Why choose this resort?
Known for its dependable snow record, Sunday River spans 884 acres of New England terrain across 8 interconnected mountain peaks, with 140 trails providing schools with plenty of choice. Laying claim to having in place the most powerful and technically advanced snowmaking system on the planet, Sunday River guarantees snow with 1,900 snow guns covering 95% of the resort’s ski area.
Activity off the slopes is almost as vast as the slopes themselves, with lodges offering excellent hospitality and in-resort après. With a season starting in early November and extending to late April, a trip to Sunday River is a great option for school ski groups seeking an extensive amount of terrain and North American charm.
On the slopes
Novices will have plenty of room to develop their skills with 45 green circle runs alone. The ski schools of South Ridge ensure even the least confident skiers will be able to make progress throughout the week. 44 runs are set out for intermediates to discover, and once you start to grow in confidence, students can venture to the wide, award-winning cruisers of Lollapalooza and Excalibur.
If the more experienced skiers in your group are looking for a challenge, look no further than White Heat. Regarded as the longest, steepest, widest lift-serviced trail in the east, White Heat is one of Sunday River’s toughest and a must for all the experts in your party. The resort also offers up 31 black diamond and 20 double diamond runs to keep your expert skiers happy all week.
Sunday River is also home to 6 progressive terrain parks, an 18ft Superpipe and 35 acres of dedicated freestyle terrain, giving the snowboarders in your group plenty of space to perfect their tricks and board slides.
