The Sportwelt Amade offers a massive ski area that is very much tailored to school groups. Made up of several towns and villages, the whole area offers modern lifts, well planned pistes and a less hectic atmosphere than you get in larger towns. The area also offers excellent après-ski and the Austrian city Salzburg is close enough to visit one evening.
Resort
The immense Sportwelt ski area has a total of 345km of piste with almost 300km of that being blues and reds. While the area isn’t rich in black runs, it is overflowing with reds and blues making it ideal for school groups.
Ski level
As a result of this the entire region is very child orientated and school groups are the norm rather than the exception. Skiing will usually start in Alpendorf and then progress on to Flachau, Flachauwinkl and the other areas for the rest of the week.
Snowboarding
The resort offers some good boarding including four snow and terrain parks at Alpendorf, Flachau and Kleinarl.
