On the slopes

The Zillertaler super-ski pass enables groups on a school ski trip to Ziller Valley to enjoy an array of ski areas including Spieljochbahn, Mayrhofen, Hochzillertal and Hintertuxer Gletscher. Thanks to the high altitude, the ski areas enjoy a good snow record and contemporary snowmaking facilities. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels will appreciate the well-groomed slopes and resort links. Beginners tend to find the nursery slopes of Kaltenbach and Zell am Ziller provide them with a good base to learn the basics and develop their confidence. The Zillertal Arena provides intermediates and advanced skiers with the challenging downhills of Hochfügen and extends across Gerlos Pass to Krimml. The Mayrhofen ski area, centred around Penken Mountain, has benefitted from long-running investment to its lift system and links southwards towards Hintertux. The glacier at Hintertux (over 3,000m) is also included on the ski pass meaning groups arriving early or late in the season can be assured of snow. Boarders are not forgotten about with a host of snowparks, freeride areas and wide-swooping slopes to choose from.
