Known as the cradle of alpine skiing, this legendary ski area is a world-renowned resort providing a combination of cosmopolitan carnival and super skiing. After a recent investment of £37.5 million on four new 10-person gondolas, the Arlberg, covering the resorts of St Anton, Stuben, Zürs, Lech, Warth and Schröcken, has become the largest lift-linked ski area in Austria.

On the slopes
The Arlberg area promises some of the finest skiing in the Alps with a banquet of choice suited to everyone from first-time skiers to the more experienced. The wide-open nursery slopes and excellent ski schools help your students develop from snowplough turns to parallels while giving them the confidence to explore new heights. Beginners tend to stick to the gentle lumps and bumps of Stuben and the Galzig Mountain while the intermediates will seek out the long, varied red runs from the Kapall and Gampen providing some scenic as well as challenging pistes. The Galzig-Valluga is accessible via the modern gondola at the heart of the village and provides students with bowl skiing and long winding reds. Advanced skiers will be in their element with the resort’s most challenging black runs and mogul fields found in Mattun and Schindler Kar. If you have students looking for a challenge, the resort’s longest slope (10km) runs from the top of Valluga. The Rendl Mountain snowpark is also extremely popular with boarders of all abilities providing a plethora of ramps, kickers and rails.
