Why choose Wildschönau

Reap the effects of a multi-million Euro development in the impressive Ski Juwel ski area linking Inneralpbach to Auffach. Tried and tested, the Wildschönau is a favourite with our school groups due to its 145km of slopes and holding onto its traditional charm. The area has a state-of-the-art chairlift system in place to enable groups to make the most of their time on the slopes. Oberau is the largest village set in the valley providing good access to various facilities in the Wildschönau valley and Wörgl, only a short drive away. Located close to Wörgl, the village of Radfeld not only offers groups a host of amenities but is also located near the historic town of Rattenberg and access to the slopes just a 20-minute drive away.

On the slopes

Thanks to the extended ski area covered by the lift pass, the Wildschönau valley provides skiable terrain to suit all levels of ability. Groups on a school ski trip to Wildschönau either begin on the Markbachjoch in Niederau, where nursery slopes are at village level, or at the middle station in Auffach providing an excellent beginners’ area accessed by the Schatzberg gondola. Gentle, wide-open blue runs can be found at the top of the gondola in Niederau as beginners develop after a few days. Intermediates can look to Auffach where the top station opens up to numerous red runs and the Inneralpbach ski area. From here, red runs take skiers down to the middle station where the Inneralpbach can be reached. Niederau provides snowboarders with the Race & Boarder Arena, while Auffach and the snowpark on the Schatzberg provide freestylers with plenty to enjoy.
